- Christophe for the "Multi Yahtzee" game mode.
Features :
Please note that YAYG before version 2.0.0 wasn't available in
English, so the "New in v 2.0.0" part may be of no concern to you.
Feature | Description | New in v. 2.0.0 |
Computer players | You may play from 1 to 4 players. Any of these may be controlled by the computer. |
|
Create Players | When creating a new player, you may
select a personnalized color. Players' colors will appear in player's bar, and are used when drawing game's curves. |
|
Sound Effects | You may switch sound effects on and off.
Selector button | This button lets you select or
deselect all dices with only one click. This action doesn't roll the dices. |
|
Change "Look and Feel" | This option lets you
switch between different graphical styles. The available styles depend on your operating system. |
|
Graph of progression | At the end of a round, the top panel shows a graph of the progression of each player during the game, using their allocated colour.
Best scores | A
table shows the 50 last best scores. Click on “erase” to erase all the scores, and indicate if you wish to take into account scores from the computer or only scores from human players. |
|
Tips | A window displaying a tip chosen randomly appears on startup.
Printing of game sheets | Do you want to play with real dices ? Then, print some scoreboards (4 per sheet ).
Slow motion game | The help menu lets you watch a
sample "slow-motion" game played by four computer players. This may help you see, how the computer chooses its dices to keep and its dices to reroll . |
|
Multiple Yahtzee | If you select the "Multiple Yahtzee"
game mode, a player achieving the Yahtzee can replay immediately, provided that
he/she scores into Yahtzee, and that the Yahtzee slot is not yet locked. Then, his/hers Yahtzee slot won't be locked, thus letting him/her score Yathzee multiple times, if he/she achieves it more than once. With this game mode, you can really get very high scores. |
Requirements :
A screen resolution 1024 X 768 pixels is required.
Indeed, while the game would run well with a 800 X 600 screen resolution,
some of the available "looks" will not
fit resolutions lower than 1024 X 768 .
In the Download page, several possible installations are available, depending on
your platform.
At the moment full installations are only provided for MS Windows and Mac OS X.
Indeed, this game needs JRE 1.3 or JDK 1.3 from Sun Microsystems to run.
Windows users will find a complete installation (that already include JRE 1.3),
while Mac OS X users already possess JRE 1.3 on their computer.
If you are running a Windows OS, and don't know whether you already have JRE 1.3
or not, please choose the "With VM" installation,
which will install needed components on your hard drive.
Note for Mac OS X users : As I still don't have any screen shots of YAYG
with the "Aqua Look", I'd be glad to get some.
( a special YAYG update will be granted to the person )
People using other operating systems (say, UNIX / LINUX or other), will first
have to download and install
the appropriate JAVA Runtime Environment (JRE) "1.3 or above " which
can be found there : http://www.java.sun.com
